Last Topic "Single User System"
The following sections list the general recommendations for a standard installation. Restaurant Manager does require a dedicated file server if using the RM Handheld or Online Ordering products regardless of the POS stations being used.
For installations that will be running 3 or more POS stations, ASI strongly recommends a dedicated fileserver to enhance the performance and integrity of the system. For smaller installations, the Fileserver can double as the Manager Workstation.
Processor: Intel or AMD Processor 3GHz or faster
OS: Windows 10 Pro, Windows 7 Pro, Windows 8 or 8.1 Pro, Windows 2012 Windows 2008 Server.
RAM Min 4 GB. Some configurations may require greater RAM (i.e. RMPOS with RDP).
Hard drive: 500 GB min- Additional memory for storing data files. (Allow 10 Megabytes per month and multiply by the number of months you wish to store on the hard drive.
Network Card
Battery Backup: Powervar, Smart Power or other professional grade UPS
Note: Restaurant Manager requires a dedicated file server if using the RM Handheld or Online Ordering products regardless of the POS stations being used. ASI defines a server as a computer that will not be run as a POS or a Manger workstation: its sole purpose is to run Restaurant Manager and related software.
Note: Windows 2000 Server, 2003 Server, and XP Pro are no longer supported by Microsoft and is deemed PCI-non compliant. In addition, ASI does not support any Home Edition of Windows operating systems.
The minimum hardware requirements for a POS workstation computer are:
Processor: Intel or AMD Processor 1.6 GHz or faster
OS: Windows 7 Pro (and embedded versions), Windows 8 or 8.1 Pro (and embedded versions), WEPOS, POS Ready 7, POS Ready 2009, Windows 10 Pro.
RAM 1 GB
Flash Compact: 2GB
Hard drive: 50 GB
Network Card
Battery Backup: Powervar, Smart Power or other professional grade UPS
Please note that Restaurant Managerâ„¢ will run on machines that are not as sophisticated as those listed, but these specs are what ASI recommends you build your system on.
The following is a list of additional hardware that may be depending on a restaurants requirements;
Check/Receipt Printer
Cash Drawer(s)
